Sophisticated accountants

The 2020 piece used the Accenture estimate that most finance and accounting tasks would automate. The conclusion still stands, without the vendor language: robotic process work is not the enemy of the profession. It is what frees people to advise.

Before any new system, map the current process. Automating a mess multiplies the mess. Document the work, then take the predictable tasks off the human desk so the same people can sit with clients on growth, pricing, structure and succession.
